Dear SC community, This shot was inspired by a guessing game on of our beloved SC members played with us by way of a picture a while ago. Click here to see what I mean. Right now I can't really describe how and when I made this shot because I can't come up with a description without revealing or giving a clue what this object might be. One thing must be said, Ginnie...on Monday the 30th of June you were strongly on my mind while I was walking my feet off at a certain recreational establishment here in Suriname. Happy guessing folks!!! I can't wait to see who will guess it right... My apologies for my absence these few months. I have missed a lot I see and I will make it up soon!

This post is inspired by someone who makes me think...makes me go deeper into myself...I needed that for so long... and finaly...I can say....for this year..I've met this person. Me and some buddies went on a trip to the inlands of Suriname. On our way to some waterfalls I just couldn't keep my fingers from the camera. Being thirsty and all the driver just crabbed my attention...the way the water looked...the way it dissappeared in his goro-goro (throath) ...the "Gloek gloek gloek" sound, the color of the bottle...the blurry background...(yes...my eyes "aprture" was wide open). Of course I needed to capture this so I did...because of all of the above reasons. But..... The thoughts I had about this picture when I review it after the upload were about the wars of the past, the present and the future. What will it be next? No oil...no ...take a wild guess...... Hope you like it...Starseed 2012

My obsession of the light game the sun plays around my house is getting bigger and bigger... For weeks I've waited for the right moment to capture a model under these circumstances. I never planned to post my artistic nudes on shutterchance but for this one (with approval of the model) I just couldn't resist…. We had several shots and this was one of her most favorites. It was also my first time my t-shirt plus my jeans were soaking wet of the sweat…it was darn hot and I had to work fast before I started to lose the light. What I really would like is some comments on the technical part of this shot. What I could do to get these kinds of shots better and what could've been better in this one. The model is gorgeous no doubt…the light is fantastic (in my opinion)…but I just have this feeling something's missing. My obsession continues…….

While sitting behind my PC I noticed the sunrays of the setting sun shining in my room.....everything turned yellow. My eyes went through the room to see if I could catch an interesting part to photograph. The sunrays appeared on my home phone, right about now an important part of my only real contact with the person I truly like... 5 shots were enough and now the choice had to be made which one of them would be shutterchance material…….. And that was the hard part…. I made a Black n White conversion…beautiful…made me think of all the perfect B&W conversions on SC. The original version shows how yellow my room can get. Plus…it made a good friend think of a Quentin Tarrantino flick (and I agree). I even tried a collage of both but that didn’t work for me. I had to make up my mind….finally I choose the original version. I shot this with a 50 mm 1,8 lens and experimented (finally/again) with the exposure lock on the Canon Rebel. Don’t know if I did a great job but somehow this picture made my sunny afternoon…. Symbolic to warmth, connection with my sweetie pie and the greed to take pictures of all the strange and attractive things around me. Enjoy!

Ok Folks, now don't get me wrong here but this pussycat (female cat, pussy or ball of furr) is a very famous pussycat. My neighbours are the proud owner of this pretty furry fluffy Feline. The story behind this picture; only once we were able to capture her in a peacefull pose. Rafael Chan has posted his version on the 9 th of november 2007. Cool cat In order for me to get a moneyshot (a different angle, different pose, different everyhting) after many many many tries without succes, I just called the owner and asked her to pick her up and together we prayed that she would stay still. Cause she's the tiny real deal version of the Tasmanian Devil. Viola! Those magical 1,8 seconds of piece gave me just enough time to pull it off. One of the reasons, besides the fact that I just love the fine details, I decided to post this picture also because of something I rarely see. At first I thought it was because of the B&W conversion but it looks like this is the way she was born. I will be happy to hear if you guys can see what I see....Have a nice weekend! ps. Glad to be back!

This little big fella is the little brother of two little sisters whom are musicians I got to shoot one evening. Before arriving I had no idea that this guy’s mom used to be my music teacher and…that right after birth she thought of naming him after me! Besides his wonderful character and comedian skills this young human is the proud owner of these beautiful eyes for which many women have fallen already. And this at the age of ten…… My whole life I’ve been interested in what you can read, see and feel by just taking a good look at someone’s eyes. In combination of what I’ve written in the beginning this does tell a hidden story. Enjoy!

Hello there Shutterchance Community, Once again I felt the need to let you all know that I miss the action. For now I am out of the Picture till ...let say...december. In between I will try my best to post some of my recent work. As long as my scedule is hectic like it is now I will be absent for a while. I will try to visit regulary. I missed many great posts I see....till soon my friends. The Doves in the picture are "homeless". My neighbours feed them rice and I try it with bread to get upclose and personal. Everytime the distance gets shorter by an inch or two...:) I tried to get the flying dove as sharp as possible...maybe good for me that it turned out the way it is..or maybe not. But the little fellow on the gate I call "The observer". Guess who it is possible for me to pick him out of the hundreds of birds...next time I'll let you know. Take care!

First I need to apologize for me being absent in this fine community. Lately work has got to me and deadlines are being thrown like a typhoon in need of a Tylenol. I miss you guys! When Patrick asked me to be part of this memorable and important moment in his life I felt honored. At first I wasn't sure if I would be able to capture the right moments of such a special day being a rookie. But hey..you need to start somewhere! I could not have asked for a better wish to come out. An excellent opportunity to be part of someone's special day and even more excellent if you get to shoot your photography hero and his beautiful wife :) . Guys…I wish you all the best for the rest of your lives and thank you for a wonderful day, evening and early morning. I smiled to whole day after! And now back to the picture; Coordinating such an important day in a relatively short time period can be daunting but still the couple looked energized and ready to start the journey of their lives. After the "I do" ceremony at the CBB, (the whole building could her Patrick's I do! (Hahaha) the freshly married couple arrived at the residence and were being prepared for the toasting ceremony in front of a beautiful decorated piece of art. I wanted to catch the moment were they were looking away from each other, looking at the guest but still were standing side by side in harmony holding each others hands. The opposite of what you normally get to see in a wedding photo album. I also wanted the friendly looking eyes of the groom and the hypnotizing eyes of the bride. For me I was looking for my perfect moment of their perfect day. I feel satisfied about the moment and besides the technical aspects I am happy to get it as it came out. This Day was memorable and will be cherished by the couple, the family members and yours truly who was all over the place in the most hilarious positions trying to make that one perfect shot……Enjoy

After this post I’ll surely dive in those “how to make better shots with your DSLR so no Photoshop is needed” tutorials and for some necessary post processing “ How to Photoshop in case of a mess up” tutorials. So why did I still put it up? Lindsay has perfect facial lines, nice wishbones structures and as some of you know by now I love lighting effects. I like the mysteriousness feel I get from my CS2 manipulation. All done while I was suppose to sleep :) . The second reason is for me to learn how to make better decisions by reading all the comments and suggestions from you guys. I guess that’s also what the whole SC experience is about. Show the world your creativity and await constructive criticism for possible improvement. Thank you Patrick, Gillian and Lindsay for a helluva good time once again! Also I must not forget to thank everyone for the reactions on my last post. It did me good.... Have a mighty fine weekend! I will for sure…

This is the result of me playing in CS2. I wanted to created a dramatic and artistic effect. Through my eyes I got what I wished for. Can't even remember what kind of filter i used because I've tried so many of them. This portret of a widow in mourning comes out of the creative mind of Roxanne. I tried B&W but that was to regular and in color she is breathtaking (that we already know!). A good friend noticed that there is a chance that in this case the SC community might want to see the original version....... :) Enjoy!

Photography by Fausto Fraser Make up and Styling by Roxanne Photographic Assistent and Light by Patrick Krolis Finaly I get to post my version of Roxanne after a period of trying to make a decision which one would be suitable for shutterchance. Master Chan helped me made up my mind. This was my second shoot with Patrick. Working the lights is one of his specialties and i am honored to be able to learn his tricks of the trade as he said so. Thanks bro! And Roxanne is amazing to work with. I got to shoot her at many different angles which shows the variations of the photographic eye. This week i will post an artistic photoshop job of this series. For those who don't know the story behind Roxanne and wish to see another version, feel free to pay a visit at http://bodynsoul.shutterchance.com/photoblog/Roxanne_/

I can't seem to make up my mind but i know for sure that this one hits the spot. I like colours, music and God's finest creation after Adam. To bad i cut out a piece of the turntables for a better view of how she worked them!
